2008 VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL
The 2008 Vacation Bible School was held June 23rd -27th. Our theme was Friendship Trek- "Jesus is our Forever Friend."
On average, the attendance was 30 participants. We had numerous activities including Bible story time,
music, crafts, games, a moon walk, and finished the week with a swim in the sound and kayak rides.
We were blessed with great weather and only a couple of minor scrapes! The success of this year's VBS was
due in part to the wonderfully dedicated and enthusiastic volunteers. Listed below are the names of the
teachers, activity leaders, and youth group guides.
Thank you all for participating!!!

GROUND-BREAKING CEREMONY
On Sunday, April 27th, ground was broken on the new fellowship hall at the Beach Church.
It has been over three and a half years since Hurricane Ivan destroyed the original building.
Thanks to the efforts of Bob Browning, Don Ripley, and everyone on the building
committee, the dream of a new and much improved facility has become a reality. Many of the
congregation were on hand as well as Rev. Dr. Jean Simpson from the UCC Gulf Coast Regional Conference,
and Wayne O'Hara from Southeastern Construction, Inc.
